Adventures With Short People

Resit-Ur, day 6

The party rested in the old smithies, and then began to explore the fire mines. Tswnn used invisibility to conceal himself and rode his lizard to the very depths and heights of the fire mine pit, finding nothing of interest but a gibbering mouther in a puddle of murky water at the bottom of the mine. The party then proceeded to fight and slay the mouther. While exploring afterwards, Hiro reduced Tswnn’s 10-foot pole to a 9-foot pole in the name of science when he tried lighting the waters of the pool on fire.

Upon descending to the next level, they encountered two drow guards, whom they were able to capture. Once the guards had woken, they convinced them to take the party as “prisoners” so that they might slip past the guards in the drow town and into the queen’s dwelling in the old thain’s apartments. They were successful in this, and were able to secure themselves in the queen’s apartments.

Once there, they successfully subdued the queen with a poisoned crossbow bolt, and defeated her two guards and her serpent familiar. When her remaining guards broke into the apartment, they too were defeated.

By the end, the party stood as follows:

Xandorius: 26 hp

Tswnn: 19 hp, and cast 4x level 2 and 4x level 1 spells

Ragnar: 48 hp and cast shape stone, bull strength, soften earth, summon monster II, shield of faith

Hiro: 39 hp

Resit-Ur, day 5

Ragnar, in a fit of utter bravery, traversed the intervening caves between the Singing Lake wizards and the previously-desecrated temple of Torag and rejoined the party in the wizards’ tower. Once there, he proceeded to buy a stone shield from the wizards, as well as boots of speed. The party then looked at the map that the wizards had provided and began to plan out their route through the city.

They first encountered an old smithy, where a swarm of six rust monsters had been barricaded in with a pile of stone and rubble. The party proceeded to snipe them through a gap in the barricade, and later to hunt down and kill the remaining injured rust monsters, as well as a nest of babies.

In a former brewery, they encountered nothing more than various wands, some of which they harvested for their potential use in dwarven cuisine, while in the Central Market they found a dragon knucklebone warhammer +2.

When crossing the bridge from the smithies to the other side of Resit-Ur, the party encountered two drow accompanied by two ettercaps, carrying a treasure chest to the lower levels. After a thrilling fight, the party cruelly butchered the two drow, and managed to capture one of the ettercaps. The ettercap, intimidated by Hiro’s martial nature, revealed that the drow were merely part of a greater society in the lower parts of the city, and that they had a great store of treasure.

Resit-Ur, day 4

The party left Ragnar to scrub down and reconsecrate the temple of Torag and went back to the landing where they had last met the Lazak expedition. There they took the forwards path away from the bridge, finally coming to an engraved bronze door. Beyond the door was a natural cavern, and when Tswnn spitefully cast a light spell upon the lamps near the door, a line of lamps leading through the cavern re-lit themselves.

While following the lamps, the party successfully fought and killed a pair of yellow musk creepers, and was able to obtain 3 doses of caramelized musk creeper sap. Tswnn was also exposed to creeper pollen during a session of roughhousing with Hiro.

Following the lantern-line to its end brought the party to a most peculiar bridge, at the end of which was a tower of dwarven wizards who had been living under the assumption that a mere 100 years had passed since the abandonment of Resit-Ur, rather than a full 1000.

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
